WAR IN THE WOODS IV: Local fighter Mike Scott will be the first fighter out of The Roughhouse to represent Team Dexter Vale Tudo in a MMA event.  The fight will be Saturday September 13th in the Fox Theater at Foxwoods Resort and Casino.  Mike has come down from 200 lbs to fight at 170 and coaches Jared and Dexter are both proud to have Mike out there as our schools first representative.  Mike is put through countless hours of grappling and sparring each day, and like a true warrior, he gives all that he has at each training session.  So come on out and support a local fighter and the local fight scene at WAR IN THE WOODS IV Sept. 13th at the Fox Theater....

NAGA New England 2008

The Roughhouse attended the 2008 NAGA New England Tournament where coach Jared Gruczka won his division then, in true Jared fashion, went up a weight class to test the competition.  It was there that Jared pulled off the sickest move of the day, a defensive choke counter to the north south choke.

North South Defense

Jared brought home the silver in the heavier division.

Also competing for the roughhouse was Aaron Picozzi.  This was Aaron's first ever grappling competition and he represented The Roughhouse like a seasoned pro, winning matches with raw power and technique and taking his losses with class.  Since then,  Jared has gone on to the NAGA new jersey 2008 Tournament where he once again won his division.  As a fighter I am lucky to have Jared as my personal grappling instructor.  As a gym owner I am honored to have him training my fighters, and representing The Roughhouse and Team Dexter Vale Tudo......
